What is a parents’ committee?

A parents’ committee is a group formed by parents of children attending a childcare service, whose main role is to represent families, make their voices heard, and collaborate with management to improve the children’s environment.

It is a space for exchange where parents can share their ideas, concerns, or suggestions, participate in organizing activities, and actively contribute to the quality of the services offered. It is also a great opportunity to get involved in your child’s educational community.

Why a consultative parents’ committee?

The parents’ committee plays a key role in the life of the daycare. It enables families to actively participate in discussions that affect their child’s well-being, development, and environment. The parents’ committee operates with openness and kindness. Each meeting is an opportunity to share ideas, exchange viewpoints, and think together about solutions, always with the goal of improving the children’s daily lives. All parents are welcomed with respect, and no prior experience is required — only the desire to contribute positively matters.

Meetings take place four times a year, based on members’ availability. They are held in a friendly and flexible format, either in person or via video conference, and typically last about one hour. This accessible approach allows everyone to get involved at their own pace, in a warm and constructive setting.

Who can participate?

Any parent or guardian of a child enrolled at the daycare is welcome to join the committee. No experience is required — only an open mind, a willingness to get involved, and the desire to contribute positively to our community.
